Is hockey still a thing?
Wasn't the NHL in jeopardy of biting the dust not too long ago?
And there was a lockout a few seasons ago. A labor dispute, which got resolved, and they played a shortened season. They are far from dying, they're looking to expand into Las Vegas and Quebec.
But the truth is...
Preds games... basically just a place for girls to take selfies.
Isn't that pretty much everywhere, anymore?
Titans encourage people to be on their phones during the game, by broadcasting tweets from fans on the big screens. It sucks, but it's a fact of life, today.
Pay hundreds for tickets, to sit there and look at your phone the whole time.
I see more girl selfies from Preds games than anything. I think it's a "thing".
To look like they care about hockey.
NHL actually has the highest percentage of female fans out of the big pro sports leagues
And this thread should probably be moved to the "Other sports" thread
Quebec would be a mistake while Vegas would probably work.
The best place for them to go though would be Seattle. Big city, hockey is big in Washington, lots of money in that city, lots of big employers to buy season tickets and it would set up an amazing natural rivalry with Vancouver.
Milwaukee would also be a good place to go.
Definitely. Milwaukee cant get one due to the Blackhawks claim to that part of the map. Some stupid rules. It's very stupid. Evidently it would be encroaching on their territory.
Blackhawks and Wild.
Another team in Greater Toronto would be an absolute cash cow but the greedy Maple Leafs will never allow it.
It's dumb. If the area can sustain 2 teams, they should let it happen.
