For those of you going wtf is an 'AMA' and a "Reddit", its basically the biggest online forum around divided into an insane amount of sections.
An AMA is 'ask me ANYTHING'. Many celebs go on this site and make these threads to various degrees of success. I have not read his, but I have heard it is going amazing.
Questions also get voted to the top based on a votes system, think high fives here.
The highest question.....
It was announced today that you have a 39% approval rating amongst NFL players. Why do you believe your rating is so low, and are you planning on focusing more on issues important to the players given this news?
EDIT: For those who don't realize the response was buried with downvotes: "I continually try to focus on issues that benefit the NFL in the long term, including, and most especially, our players. I truly respect our players and get tremendous feedback from them. They help us make better decisions. I look forward to working more closely with them in the future."
EDIT 2: "Response" no longer buried. Also, dammit Kluwe!
This is number 1 question now:
With your recent 5-year salary contract ending with $20 million annually, and referee annual salary contracts after the negations this year upping only $55,000 annually. (Max after 6 years) My question is how much more will we let money compromise the integrity of the game, and should we automatically expect another referee lockout in 2019 when you try more stiff-arm contract negotiations?
In case you guys are wondering... AMA's are not like going on a late night talk show with Jay Leno...
For example, go look up the Woody Harrellson/Rampart AMA. Haha.. The top question of that AMA ended up being:
I really see this being a train wreck for Roger Goodell. He should have never agreed to do this.
Can't blame Woody Harrelson for poppin' that cherry.
Blame the dumb girl who's dumb enough to get into bed with Woody ****ing Harrelson... unless she's doing it for the money.
You read the part where the chick was in high school?
Yeah. That girl was Manti Teo level dumb for thinking WOODY HARRELSON was actually going to call her back after the fact. And what's she crying about? There's about a 99.9% chance that that's going to be the craziest/coolest thing to ever happen to her. I'm sure it will be her go-to story later in life.
Back to Goodell, I find it hard to believe he didn't know what he was getting into. This isn't the kind of thing a guy like that just up and decides to do out of the blue, "for fun". I'm sure he was very aware that the vast majority of questions/comments were going to be of a negative nature. Guess he was just trying to buy some cool points. (You failed BTW)
I liked the part where someone asked if the Saints were going to get their 2nd round pick back. To which Goodell said no. Then the person replied "Enjoy New Orleans."
Anyways... If you go to this link, you can see all of the answered of the commish, you can basically figure out what the question was based on his answer: http://www.reddit.com/user/NFL_Commish
