Where am i getting the times from?

    Nfl combine? Hello?

    http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=58664

Same track, official nfl timing. Pro days don't count because all the players don't compete at the same place.

    TE combine 40 times..

    Witten 4.65
    Clark 4.65
    Winslow 4.62
    Shockey 4.64
    Heap 4.68
    crumpler 4.76
    LJ smith 4.62

    Olsen 4.51

Is that a wake up call or what?

Olsen was a great pick for a team with fewer needs IMO.

Ask yourselves this question. Is TE the worst position on the team right now? No, but Thompson was the worst player in the history of the NFL (maybe besides one FA CB we had long ago).

By the way Chris Henry is Mike Fabiano's 4th pick for top 20 rookies.

    Just saw that.

    Wrong soxcat...

You don't just draft for obvious needs like plugging up a leaky dike. You draft stud players in the early rounds who will have an impact for many years. Stud players, future hall of fame type players.

When the titans drafted eddie george RB wasn't the greatest need they had a young back who ran for almost 1000 yards. When they drafted mcnair they had chandler. We have seen many times where we drafted for need only and failed; only to have to go there again what a waste. Joey kent in 97, kevin dyson in 98. We needed a corner in 03 so we draft woolfolk back we go again just a year later with gardner in 3, waddell in 4. Whoops got to draft pacman in 05. Maybe if we think ahead we do better. the steelers top need that same year was also corner so what were they doing trading up to get a SS? They already had a good one in flowers. The steelers that year thought outside the box, they looked ahead a couple of years .

How about those stupid chiefs? Boy were they dumb drafting a RB(larry johnson) when they already had priest holmes. Suckers! If only they had drafted defense or something else.

We'll see in a couple of years which players who were on the board end up making the most impact. When olsen is giving his team 700-800 yards a year in receiving yardage you will wish he was a titan..

    Mike fabiano?

Why do you like the henry pick soxcat? RB was far from being our weakest position and we already had lendale. Drafting henry is an example of what i'm talking about. I have some reservations about his college performance level but still they went after an exceptional athlete that they believe could be an impact player not just plugging in a need position like corner,, WR or a DE.

    Fabiano is braindead..

All his top rookie picks are skill position players backs and WRs. He just names the top 3 backs taken plus calvin johnson, how deep:rolleyes: .

Yeah right all backs and Wrs taken early will be impact players in year one.

His comments on olsen are clueless. Olsen isn't some slow underneath guy at all.

I feel strongly that Olsen will do absolutely nothing in the NFL.

As usual Rolltide has decided to go way overboard again.
I guess 30 teams were all just moronic idiots because Olsen is now, according to Tide, a bonafide stud hall of fame player.
Of course I bet Tide has not even watched the kid play but Tide is now a professional talent expert and if anyone has a different opinion we are brain dead and clueless.

Right and witten was a 3rd rd pick..

32 teams passed him up twice. real damn smart..

Terrell davis a 5th rd pick. Brady a 6th. The experts are always right.

Talent expert? Thanks but i'm just a fan who has the balls to take a stand on a guy and say we should have drafted him and while most of all those WR you guys were swooning over(jarrett-meachum-rice-ginn-bowe) have bust or mediocre careers olsen will be a stud putting up wycheck like numbers or better.

In wycheck's prime years 95-2001 he averaged 635 yards a season for us. Would have been nice to give vince a target like that for the next 7 years.

But who wants a miami TE anyway? Miami TEs have not been very successful of late.

Bubba franks 2002-2006 3 pro bowls
Jeremy shockey 2002-2006 4 pro bowls
kellen winslow jr. led all TEs in receiving yardage in 06

    Pretty shabby bunch there.

:ha: you use Bubba Franks as an example?

Him and his career best 400 yards is a good TE?

Ben Troupe must be a star.

    :ha:

    that's gold.

Fabiano's article was about rookies who may have fantasy value, who will get playing time early and earn fantasy points for owners -- not about which rookies will be all-pro. That's why he lists skill players, ones who have a chance to actually earn points.

BTW, Paul Williams was mentioned as a notable.
