I see this as good news. If one of our QBs is gonna take a beating I'd rather it be the useless one.

Also means Munch and co. have officially called it a season and there's no reason to keep him and his buddies around any longer.

As expected, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start again on Thursday night against the Steelers. Filling in for an injured Jake Locker (non-throwing shoulder), Hasselbeck completed 26 of 43 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss against the Vikings.

Coach Mike Munchak said Locker is improving, but the “smart thing” is to hold him out at least another week.

“Jake is getting better, no doubt about that,” Munchak said. “The last couple of days he feels a lot better. But I think for a short week it wouldn’t make any sense to try and hurry him back. We’ll hold him and start thinking about the next game, Buffalo week.”
