Reality is the Texans have to count on Matt Schaub playing healthy.....something he can't seem to do.

In any case, Matt may not can stay healthy. This much we know, but the Texans can at least win in the regular season without him. Especially if they receive a favorable schedule again.

The question is if they can win in the post season without him. I don't think they can simply because of the quality of the teams.

 

He played the full season in 2009 and 2010, just got hurt this year with a freak type injury that could have happened to anyone. He might not be the MOST durable QB in the league, but I think he's proven to be durable enough over the past 3 seasons except for the oddball injury that happened this year.

They have two starting caliber RB's and a good backup, they have a solid O-line, so it will take a number of injuries or free agent losses for the run game to fall apart. Sure, it can happen, but I think it's more likely that it doesn't happen over the next 3-4 years.

Before Schaub got hurt I believe he had the 3rd or 4th longest consecutive start streak going.

 

Well, on offense it worked great, top 5 or 10 offense in the NFL, but they had no defense to speak of so they didn't go anywhere as they weren't able to score 30 points a game to win often enough.
