OK, the bar is set. Between what C Redding got last year and this contract, they should be able to come up with something Big Al can live with.

No big deal. That averages slightly less than Haynesworth's one year franchise tender. I'd like to see a similar contract done with Haynesworth, but with roster bonuses every other season. That would likely keep him striving to play at a high level, protect the FO from his contract if he flops, and keep Haynesworth among the highest paid defensive players in the league.

TKelly's deal is probably back-loaded protecting the Raiders when he falls limp in 2 years.

Well if you read the article it's front loaded with 25.125 million in the first 3 years 18.125 million in guarantees.

Longterm big number deals are nothing more than bragging rights for agents.

Albert will be mainly concerned with the upfront bonus money & what portion of the rest of his contract is guaranteed.Expect that to break the $20-$25 mill mark. More than half of that will be in bonus form spread over the length of the deal.

He going to cost around $6mill a year to keep.In three years time that money will look like a bargain.

I thought Kelly was somewhat under the radar. He's good from what I've seen....but this seems like more Al Davis old insane guy craziness.
