The way I see it the dude couldn't even get it done with a roster twice as good as ours is right now. And then they only went downhill from there. But hey, maybe he'd do better on his second gig.
I don't dislike him. I wouldn't even hate the hire. It's just not the direction I prefer we go.
I'm still trying to figure out if the coach makes the QB or the QB makes the coach. It applies throughout the NFL. How many coaches have been fired because they missed on a QB? How many QBs never developed due to bad coaching? Fisher was great when he had McNair. No McNair and Fisher looks like the run of the mill coach he is.
No way that roster was twice as good as ours.
So if the new coach sucks like shyt next season...then what??
Players are always more important than coaches I don't care what sport you are talking about. Some coaches are so good that they can make mediocre talent overachieve but they never get over the hump and win it all. Got to have a QB in this league or it is over before the season even starts.
In basketball you could argue you don't even need a top 10 coach to win it all as long as you have a couple superstars.
They were pretty freaking talented. Of course there's no way to quantify "twice as good" when it comes to talent. But I don't feel too far off with the statement.
Wink wink nudge nudge hint hint.
I expect us to part ways with him and bring in a gore type back
and don't forget Colby Calais or whatever his name was...lol
They lost by 4 points to #1 defense Steelers. No matter the talent level you can't fault him for that. Both teams in the Super Bowl are talented every single year.
