We could (and may) do much worse than Smith.
I'm just happily shocked that we have made it 3 pages talking about HC and "the Chp Kelly love fest" hasn't started.
Then again....its early and a couple of the usual Kelly Sack Swingers haven't chirped yet. Lol

Smith runs a 4-3 defense and I don't think we need to go through that change, right now.

He's not my top choice but we could do much worse than him.

However, he went 13-3 in 2012 and then 4-12 in 2013 with basically the same team.

Depends what your criteria is. He is 1-4 in the post season. That could make me concerned that his teams aren't mentally tough when playing strong opponents.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure that was the year they were killed with injuries very early in the season.

    Yep. He's awful.

Ask Falcons fans. Just like we knew Fisher was awful, they know Smith is awful.

And I know he's awful because I've witnessed his horrendous clock management numerous times. Then you add in the fact that he kept Devanta Freeman on the sidelines most of his rookie season (when they had no run game) doesn't help his cause either.

10-22 in his final two seasons there. Even when he was having success, there were games where, again, he'd do a horrible job managing the clock. He once called timeout for the other team. Truly hilarious.

But what was the opposition like? Looking purely at win-loses can be misleading if you don't look at the quality of the opposition.

Man, i watch the falcons play a lot, they are my brothers team. Smith is like fisher, he sticks to his guns even when it doesn't work. Yes, he's had success, but so did fisher. Do you think fisher is a good coach too? We don't need another stuburn old school football coach. We need someone willing to change with the times. I wonder why coaches have been getting hired and smith isn't? Those 11 win falcons teams had the tools to be unstoppable, but were held back.

I would have to go back and look. But he followed up with an impressive 6-10 following that so I think it had more to it than just injuries although the injuries did play a part.

Isn't Smith known for his super soft teams? I will pass on Smith.
