Gerhart got his numbers against Pac 10 defenses, Wake Forest, San Jose St., and Notre Dame. Plus, he's white.

The Heisman is such a joke award. It's all about "what have you done lately?"

Everyone forgets that Ingram had only 30-something yards against Auburn.

Suh had a great game against Texas, but they fail to realize he was not much of a force in these games:

    Texas Tech - 4 tackles, 0 sacks
    Oklahoma - 4 tackles, 0 sacks
    Kansas - 3 tackles, 0 sacks

Did Suh's play help Nebraska win the Big 12?

Colt has only put the Horns in position to win and will have the Highest Completion % and Wins in FBS History. As a hornfan, I could give 2 :grrr::grrr::grrr::grrr:s as to whether or not Colt wins the Heisman. I'd rather win the MNC. I mean C'mon, Reggie won the award with Leinart and Fatdale, while VY was more deserving (IMHO), but we all now how that shook out.

Having said that, The Heisman is a freakin' joke!

Sorry... the SEC's defensive numbers aren't very impressive this year.

I wouldn't call it a joke, but I do think they put too much on how you finish. It's very much like the BCS. Tebow and Case Keenum lost one game and basically went from hero to zero.

SEC darling wins...who would have guessed?

Once again all logic is ignored, and they pick the best guy from the best team from the best conference. Who cares about the guy that does a better job at that position than the winner- with a worse team?

Mark Ingram: 1,542 yds, 15 TDs
Toby Gerhart: 1,736 yds, 26 TDs

Gerhart only had 2 games under 100 yards, and none under 80. Ingram had 5 games under 100, including a 30 yard game and 2 games in the 50s. The only thing Ingram had going for him was being on the #1 team and national TV exposure.

The college football system is so f'd.

I wish Gerhart would have won.

    Alabama D-Line: 98 Tkl, 23.5 TFL, 9.5 Sk, 20 QBH, 5 PBU, 0 Int, 1 FF, 3 Blk
    Florida D-Line: 112 Tkl, 33 TFL, 14 Sk, 48 QBH, 5 PBU, 0 Int, 1 FF, 0 Blk
    Texas D-Line: 116 Tkl, 25.5 TFL, 15.5 Sk, 10 QBH, 7 PBU, 0 Int, 2 FF, 0 Blk
    Ndamukong Suh: 82 Tkl, 23 TFL, 12 Sk, 24 QBH, 10 PBU, 1 Int, 1 FF, 3 Blk

Tell me Suh didn't deserve it.

Ingram also had 62 fewer carries.

And 2 of Ingram's sub-100 yard games were against N. Texas and Florida International. He had 18 total carries in those 2 games. Another one of the sub-100 yard games was a 99 yard game vs. UT. You're just an SEC-hater.

Gerhart played bad teams too...and he didnt have sub 100 games against ANYONE.

Another Knowshow Moreno type hype. At least Ingram is actually skilled unlike Noshow or McFADden.
