Is that a bad thing? I'd certainly hope my WR's are possession receivers. I mean they do need to "receive" the ball in, and "possess" it, otherwise it's not a catch.

You prefer the nice tall and sexy 6'3" WR's like Kenny Britt that have all the athleticism in the world, but can't make a play to save their career? Explains why you love C.J. so much. He's fast and sexy and doesn't make plays.

Possession receiver is a term used for a slow, unathletic guy who has great hands. Kendall is incredibly athletic, and ran a 4.4 40. His great hands don't make him a possession receiver, they make him a beast. You don't normally get a guy with all those attributes. If he was 6'2 no one would question him at all.

lol... Perfect logic. Say that Wright isn't as good as everyone thinks he is, or say that he's not an "explosive playmaker", and automatically you're supposed to love physically gifted but troubled and unproductive WRs.

It's not that being a possession receiver is a bad thing. It's just that he'll never be a truly explosive #1 WR.

Is Harvin or Welker #1 status to you?

I think people forget why we drafted Wright. He wasn't supposed to be the #1 guy, that's what Kenny Britt was for. No one could have seen Britt's fall coming, knee injury or not. That's why we went out and got Hunter.

If Wright keeps this production up and Hunter develops we'll be more than fine and this stupid argument will stop. In the meantime, our "possession" WR is easily the most productive and consistent guy on offense.

People are just made that CJ is no longer the best player on our offense, so rationally they attack that person.

Rationally speaking... CJs last elite year was right before he got paid. Never been the same since.

First thing, never say Wright isn't explosive. He may not top out at 220 like a Ferrari, but he does go 0-60 as fast as anyone out there. He does his damage when guys are close to him, and thats what makes him an excellent football player. Give me 5 Kendall Wrights and Ill win 20 Super Bowls.
