Yeah we should run that play more, it works every time the other team leaves someone running a fly route completely uncovered!

 

i can recall at least 5 times he has been lined up as a wr and he doesnt have but one catch there! I would much rather see a conventional screen pass thrown to him instead of swingin it to him in the flats.

 

Does anyone expect us to try and hit CJ deep? I don't but he's def. a good decoy, sending him deep will warrant safety help. But that means we have to pass the ball. Jeff Fisher is still coach.

On the opening drive of the Steelers game, they motioned CJ out of the backfield on 3rd & goal from the 10-12 yard line... CJ ran to the back of the endzone to draw the defenders away from the LOS, and Vince dropped a screen pass to Scaife in the area CJ had cleared out. Picked up about 8 yards.

I didn't think it was the greatest playcall for that situation, but it's a well-designed play. I'd like to see them call it sometime around midfield, where CJ could really clear things out for Scaife.

 

I didn't recognize that play as being well-designed because the ball was thrown well short of the endzone and I automatically labeled it as terrible.

But yes, it could be effective when used in the right situation.

I agree with your post though. We have one of the most dynamic players in the league, may as well HB Dive him to death into 9 man fronts. Makes perfect sense.
