Best advice I can offer on interviews is, be yourself. People are drawn to honesty. If you try too hard it will show.

Tell them you're a Bears fan and that Jay Cutler is better than Aaron Rodgers.

I've had to hire people before. **** Happens when you end up the superintendent for a construction company at 21.

It was by far the most annoying process ever. But when I looked to hire people there was a lot of similar traits I ended up looking for

Well spoken, sits up straight. Doesn't fidget too much during the interview. Well groomed. Doesn't stink. Doesn't look like a drug addict. Professional resume. My interviews were very unconventional. I had them come in, write a paper with all their best attributes and then we went over them. Simple. It instantly weeded out people that didn't know themselves and people that weren't sure of their abilities.

80% of it was "fit" and initial impression... Did they fit in with the crew I had. Would it work? We basically lived together... I needed someone we could depend on to not drive us crazy.

Yea, I got the 'look' down pat. If you can't figure out how to look for an interview you are pretty hopeless.

I got confused by the thread.

Are you wanting to know what types of questions to expect in the interviews?

My teachers have sent out tons of common questions to prepare us for interviews. If I find them I'll PM them to you.

There's always some sort of "tell me about a time" BS, but you guys would know better than me because I've only had internships and jobs that don't require a college degree.

For one of my final exams this year I actually have to perform in a mock interview with my teacher asking the questions. That should be interesting.

Yea, basically those 'tell me about a time' questions. I haven't come across a situation that I couldn't fix EXCEPT for only a handful of times when it was unfixable. Of course, I don't bring those situations up....

Just talk to them, people connect with people they realate to. Im sure you could figure the interviewer out to a degree after 30 seconds. And yes prepare to explain how you fixed a bad situation.
