Hope has Neck Surgery, Optimisitic for '08 Return

Hope was a great free agent pickup a few years ago. Not to mention he's a gread mentor for Grif. I just hope he actually does recover, unlike David Givens. I think Givens would've been good for us, but I think his career is pretty much over now. Our track record for free agent WR's is not good (Carl Pickens, Yancey Thigpen, etc....) Let's hope that changes this year.


Also, just for info sake...Al Wilson (remember him from the Bronco's?) who sat out a year has been cleared to play again....

 

Great news lets hope he comes back better than ever. Being the leader of secondary i can't help but think we missed him badly against SD as he would of been the one calling the signals and making sure everyone knew where they were meant to be. And as i can remember there was some huge wide open areas of real estate for the Chargers Wr's to run into in that game.

 

how chris hope recovers will play a big part in our sucess next year.. i pray everything goes smoothly

 

speaking of david givens has anyone heard about his current status???

 

I heard he'll be out for at least half the season next year. I think he should just retire. Out for 2 years maybe 3 he wasn't even a top 20 WR. Just keep the remaining health you have and enjoy.

 

man i have never heard of a knee injury that keeps a guy sidelined for 2 1/2 to threee years.. i have seen players out for a year or so then play for a couple of games then not be able to go but to keep a guy out for 3 years and not even put on his helmet.. thats to bad.. i know he's not the best reciever in the nfl but he was a good solid player.. and it sucks because we payed him all that money and he has played 4 games so far in a titans uniform..

 

It must really be serious. All I've read on Givens is that it's career threatening and the trainers have no timetable on his return.
