Forget genres and subgenres, The Thing ('82) and Silence of the Lambs are two of my all-time favorite movies. This is a sucky matchup for me. Still, from a pure villainous standpoint it's tough to go against the good doctor. Gotta go with Lecter.

Also this is the last R1 matchup. We'll be down to the top 16 when these last polls close.

I voted the Thing, because Hannibal at least isn't pure 100% evil. I mean, I wouldn't want to share dinner with the guy but at least he helped the feds catch a worse bad guy.

A few of us will remember the original Hannibal Lecter..
I can honestly say I think every casting of Hannibal to this point has been great..

That said, The Thing is still the greatest..

Is The Thing even evil to begin with?

It seemed like an animal trying to survive the only way it knew how. Assimilate and imitate other lifeforms.

Someone wrote a short story that told the story of the events of the movie from the perspective of the alien. Really cool.

Surprised to see Lecter getting crushed like this.
