After perusing back on some posts I missed. You did have a logical post. You are right, both teams are on the up and have talent to build around.

Although to be honest... I wouldnt trade your group for mine:

CB Dunta Robinson, DE Mario Williams, TE Owen Daniels, WR Andre Davis, CB Fred Bennett, DT Amobi Okoye, WR Andre Johnson, QB Matt Schaub, LB Xavier Adibi, RB Steve Slaton, WR Kevin Walters, LB Morlon Greenwood, RT Eric Winston, DT Travis Johnson, WR Jacoby Jones, CB Antwan Molden, LB Demeco Ryans, Alex Gibbs, Ray Rhodes, Head coach Kubiak, and GM Rick Smith.... and most of all OWNER Bob McNair.

Gonna be a fun frickin future.

Imo... I think Vince may very well come around in the passing game. I am a Horn fan after all. But there is still uncertainty regarding it.. and nothing is for sure. Although when speaking to Titans fans... Schaub is definitely for sure going to suck. How they know that... I dont know.

Alot of Texans fans are down on Young. Young needs help on offense and Schaub needs to prove that he's starter material.

Point being... imo..I think our group will emerge with more true all pro star power than yours.

The coaching staff liked what they saw from Schaub. He has to improve, but liked what I saw as well considering this was his first year as a starter. What really did it for me, was he was able to drive the ball, and put up good numbers in the air despite AJ going down and despite the horrible running game led by Ron Dayne last year which let everyone key in on our passing game and our QB, and we still ranked #11 in passing. Hence Alex Gibbs coming aboard and the improvement he should bring to our team via more balance and thus making the play action more effective. A key in our passing game.

Yes I believe offensive coordinators can make a difference. I do not think ASSISTANT D-backs coaches can. And I think Gibbs is washed up. How many coaches are 66 and still effective in the nfl? I'm just glad our terrible qb can be on a team that will be making the playoffs for years to come while all the superstars on the texans will never get there.

Yes I do know them, ray rhodes won coach of the year one year and that's the only reason the guy's still even in the league and Gibbs has granchildren older than the guys he'll be coaching. Gibbs was a great coach in the mid to late 90's then it went downhill from there. I live in houston and most of my friends are texan fans. All the sports radio I listen too talks about the texans so I actually might even know more about the texans than the titans organization.

Its called complimentary pieces. Having coaches like Ray Rhodes and Alex Gibbs added to your existing coaching staff is what some would say rasing the bar. With Dunta not coming back till mid season. Ray Rhodes brings a ton of experience as a former head coach and D coordinator who is now soley focusing on the secondary. How can he possibly hurt our young talent in CBs Fred Bennett and CB Antwon Molden? I mean cmon.. are you really trying to say having a guy like Ray Rhodes as a position coach cant make a difference? This is the NFL, where every piece definitely counts.

And the whole Alex Gibbs is washed up comment... is that some sort of wishful thinking, or mere hope?? What are you possibly going off of?

His last team was Atlanta waaaaay back in 2006. During the three seasons while he was in Atlanta.... the team led the NFL in rushing with 8,157 yards. Atlanta was the only team over that three-year period to record a rushing average above five yards at 5.1. The year before he got there... the Falcons were 14th in rushing.

I have heard it more than a couple of times that Gibbs was our biggest off season aquisition... latest by Adam Shefter of the NFL network who used to cover the Broncos while Gibbs was there. Sure, nothing is for certain... but to say Gibbs is washed up is kinda obsurd. There are quite a few teams that are still trying to perfect and run his zone blocking scheme to this day. You cant beat having the real deal.

AND DO WHA? Gibbs was with Denver in 2003, his last year there... and they were 2nd in the league in rushing. Gibbs has worked with Texans head coach Kubiak before, who served as the offensive coordinator in Denver, from 1995-03. During their time together, the Broncos led the NFL in rushing with 20,150 yards. Denver finished second in total offense with 54,167 yards during their nine seasons together.

And that last comment about knowing more about us than the Titans was funny. I am pretty sure they understand the impact Gibbs has had in this league as recent as 2006.
