The schedule is HUGE with this too. We have 2 games against Texans, plus 49ers and Seahawks at home. If we have any of those games early in the season, it would be hard to predict a win no matter who the QB is. So I think the record will only matter if the play of the QB specifically created the record.

If Locker plays pretty well, not turning the ball over and getting points in the red zone. And we happen to lose some close games by a last second field goal. I wouldnt say we pull him from 1-4 start. But, if we are losing games to the Jags, Chiefs, or Jets and Locker is throwing Picks, fumbling, missing open guys, and just overall the reason we are losing games, then he gets the AXE!

Seems like I'm not the only one feeling this:

"It seems some media outlets feel newly acquired QB Ryan Fitzpatrick won't push Jake Locker for the starting job in Titansville. Seriously? What is it, exactly, about Locker's play over two seasons that has inspired this kind of presumptuousness? Fitzpatrick has completed over 60 percent of his throws and tossed 48 touchdown passes over the last two seasons. He might be no great shakes, but those numbers aren't exactly slummin' it. Locker is currently sitting at 55.5 in career completion percentage.

    You're kidding yourself...

Munch isn't going to sit around and write his own death wish while he watches Jake Locker get him fired from his awful play.

If you think Fish face ever had VY on a short leash, wait til you see Locker's leash this season.

Ryan Franchise is gonna blow this kid away in camp, not even close, preseason he'll light it up but everyone will attribute it to playing second strings.

Right after the first 13/30, 161 yards, TD, 2 INT game from Locker, Franchise will come in and all the years of sitting through Pre-Benching VY, KFC, Hasselbeck, and Locker QB'd games will finally be worth it because at last we have a QB worth a damn.

If he stays healthy, Locker will do fine. More than half the problem last season was no line to help him, inconsistent receivers, break downs in executing. Heck, Brady wouldn't have done much better with what Locker had to work with. Plus, Locker was injured for almost half the season. So really, the kid has only the equivalent of one season under his belt. Give him a freakin(or should it be 'frackin' these days?) break.

Plus, the footwork issues weren't helped by having to run for his life. A better line will allow him to practice better mechanics.
