How Would You Rate Center as a Need?

No.. We don't need a star RB.. Just someone to share carries with Sankey. Someone to take over Greene, and be more effective than he was.

For sure, patch the LG and everything improves. Need a fat guy that can hold his own and not get pushed around.

 

I put C pretty high up on the priority list honestly. I think all the 3 OL positions need to be upgraded this year (RT, LG,C) either in FA or draft ... at least bring in some solid competition for all 3 spots.

I'd say Center is a distant 3rd need as far as OL and probably tied with several other positions you'd look for upgrading. i think we have at least 5 major holes that have a higher priority.

I've been touting Erving for as long as I've seen him. I think he can play all 5 OL spots but I agree he'd probably be better at RT, OC, or OG. I'd love to get him and another OL (RT or OG) and a swing tackle late. We need to replace LG and RT, but Erving could also play OG and backup any spot on the OL.

 

Another guy to look at for LG would be Lael Collins!

 

We haven't had consistent play from Scwemke. He's missed games and has played with injuries. Hard to jell when you don't have the same guy. The OL starts with the C, a good one is a good foundation that leads and directs both sides of the interior line.

Getting consistent play from our C position is a very high priority IMO. Can we get that from Scwenke? I don't know but I think we'd be foolish to pass on a quality C in the draft if one drops to a high value spot.
