If he can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. No one is making him have twitter, he exposed himself to the critics.

Well there's the tiny little detail that there were no good options at FS for us this past spring.

    Exactly.

"It's Twitter" isn't a good enough excuse for constantly hurling insults at people, regardless of how much they may suck at A GAME. It's just silly. At the end of the day these are people. And sure, we all talk our fair share of crap about players here. But this is a Titans forum. I think most/all players know better than to venture onto a fan forum unless they are looking to get their feelings hurt. But @'ing someone on Twitter, where they are (most likely) guaranteed to see it, is completely different.

I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world but I just find it kinda silly, cowardly, and mean.

I didn't say that there were. I have no problem with them tagging him. My problem is them tagging him and then turning around a week later and giving him a long-term deal. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Should've let him play out the year tagged. Then we'd be rid of him after this season. Now we're stuck with his sorry butt as a starter for AT LEAST another season.

    Another classic Titans move.

Yea but we saw how bad he was in 2011 on a 1-year deal. Going by that it would have been dumb to pay him $6M+ in 2012 and not have him in 2013.

Doing it the way we did it saved the team some money now and next year. Because next year we're in the same spot (no good options at FS)

I don't hate them for extending him for 5 years (he'll last for 2 years tops), he's not going to see that money.

Also, if we did franchise him for 2012, his cap number jumps 120% in 2013 if they wanted him back. thats $13M!!!

If we paid him $13M/yr I'd have a stroke. I think we all would.

But we wouldn't want him back, would we? That's my point. I'm not worried about money. I'm worried about being stuck with a worthless starter, which we now are. I'd have rather paid him more money this year just to be rid of him. What good is saving a few bucks if it makes your team worse long-term?

I don't buy this. There's a better option than Michael Griffin somewhere out there. And if not better, then at least cheaper. I honestly don't think we could do much worse than Griffin.

I don't want him back either, but fact of the matter is, this front office for some reason believes he's better than everyone else out there.
