Called in to 3HL in their final 10 minutes to comment on the discussion of what order to view the Star Wars films in.

They seemed to like my recommendation of watching Episodes 4, 5, 1, 2, 3 then 6.

    No, actually... here's the reasoning:

Episodes 1-3, to me, seem to be more about the journey of Anakin becoming Darth Vader... so, it is almost an origin trilogy.

So... Episodes 4 & 5 to start the series well since it introduces the characters well - also helps 5 is one of the best of the series. Episode 5 gives the big "reveal" about Vader being Luke's father. So then, we begin the first three to learn the beginnings of Darth - especially since the BIG REVEAL has happened.

After Episode 3, jump back to 6 so the series can end on a high note with the Rebels being victorious. The only spoiler will be the revelation that Leia is Luke's sister/Vader's daughter.

Also, the time between Episode 5 & 6 feels longer - giving Luke "proper" time to become a Knight and so on.

Pretty cool to see Yoda as an old man and then seeing him as a master swordsman in his "youth".

So 3HL wasn't talking about jack chit today. Now I don't feel bad for not tuning in.

    For the Record

You should watch the original Lord of the Rings trilogy before watching The Hobbit trilogy.

I'm gonna go ahead and piss some people off... I don't like Star Wars.

I loved them growing up. But a few years ago I went back and watched some of them and I couldn't help but think "wow... this sucks."

    Sorry :(
