If he is there and we'd rather trade down 'cuz it's not a position we need, I'm gonna be very disappointed. That and the whole moneyball mentality is exactly what we need to start shying away from.

He's not even the best LB in his class. Jarvis Jones is better but doesn't fit our scheme.

But Moneyball was a good movie!

Oh but the A's have never won a championship... sounds familiar.

If he were available id definatly move Ayers to DE and draft him, i know i said to trade down but GD man, did you see him vs florida and on pass rush vs alabama?

    Thats a pipe dream though.

I posted this in another thread:

If we took Manti Teo (MLB) I think we could go 3-4. That may just benefit the Defense as a whole more so than taking a DE in the draft.

    Ayers - McCarthey - Teo - Brown (Rotate Whimbley/Morgan/Witherspoon)

Martin - NT(Draft/Fa) - Casey (Rotate Klug, Marks?, DT (Draft/FA)

I think our D just immediately gets better with the added bonus of depth and player personel in the right positions.

I very much doubt Wimbley goes to the bench.

I agree that switching to the 3-4 might be better for the talent we have now, especially if we took Teo. People will argue that we don't have the right DL to do that, but we really don't have the right DL to run a 4-3 effectively either. The strenght of our D is definitely the LBs right now, so we might as well run a D that puts the focus on our strength.

When drafting, especially in the top 10 picks, you draft best player available regardless if it fills a need or not. You can't pass up on stud players because it doesnt fill a need. That being said I think our first round pick should be Te'o or Warmack.

I can't see us switching to a 3-4. If the Titans draft Teo, he's a straight replacement for McCarthy, nothing else.

I maintain our biggest need on defense is at CB. The D-Line is getting decent pressure, but opposing QBs can pick us apart because guys are running free in the secondary. I also think Gray wants to play more man coverage behind some of his pressure packages, but doesn't havethe depth at CB to do so.

I am not convinced Milliner is worth the pick we're likely to end up with, but I really want to see us use one of our high
    Icks on a CB upgrade.

Where Mccarthy was drafted is meaningless at this point he has already been in the league for 2 years.
