Where do you see people lining up at? I know there are a lot of similarities, but do you think someone like Derrick Morgan would play DE or OLB? What about Akeem Ayers? I would automatically think to put him at OLB but IF Derrick Morgan played OLB with Kamerion Wimbley, that would force one of those three was a rotational non-starter but if we put him at ILB, then either Colin McCarthy or Zach Brown would turn into a rotational player. I just wondered how we would see people fit IF we did go to a 3-4 base. Maybe something like this?

DE - Derrick Morgan, Ropati Pitoitua, Lavar Edwards
NT - Sammie Lee Hill, Mike Martin
DT - Jurrell Casey, Karl Klug
OLB - Akeem Ayers, Thaddeus Gibson
SILB - Colin McCarthy, Moise Fokou
WILB - Zach Brown, Zavier Gooden
OLB - Kamerion Wimbley, Scott Solomon
SS - Bernard Pollard, George Wilson
FS - Michael Griffin, Robert Johnson

I'm not saying this to say we need to.. its more so just hypothetical just because my curiosity got kicked up over someone bringing up how a few of those guys would fit with the official switch.

That would be a good place for them to line up

Every defense in the NFL now runs a hybrid scheme that includes both 4-3 and 3-4 looks. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we can move on from threads like this.

Yeah. ...and the league is such a passing league that you don't see a lot of base sets anyway.

I once remember Jerry Gray saying he thought Derrick Morgan can play outside linebacker in the 3-4, which means Derrick Morgan probably can't play outside linebacker.

Hahahaha everyone comes in and just makes the thread kitty litter. Bunch a haters. Lol I'll play along.

    OLBs - Ayers/Wimbley
ILBs - McCarthy(cover guy) / Brown (both guys sorta small for inside guys tho)
    LEs - Martin/Casey
    NT - Hill
    REs - Morgan/Riopati

Definitely holes in this game plan.
