is there any advantage to having two insurances? my wife recently got hers at her job and she bout to have our second son in a few weeks so im wondering if its at all advantageous to keep her on mine or should I get her off it and save myself about 120 bucks per paycheck

depends on the deductible change with adding a kid, depends on if her insurance is good

depends on alot of stuff, coverage, premium, deductible, available doctors..

If you require prescription meds you want to make sure your plan covers that so youre not spending $250 on a bottle of pills. Lots to consider. Co-pays, specialists, stuff like that.

I refuse to go to the Dr unless something is terribly wrong, if youre like me you could be alright with basic coverage. I actually have great insurance, but Im just too stubborn to visit a Dr. usually whatever ails me is gone within a couple of days.

I've mentioned my situation. Because my wife has insurance that I "CAN" get onto (for 400 bucks per month or so) I DO NOT qualify for any breaks on the Gov't sponsored healthcare...

So I can pay 350 bucks, and get on my wife's policy.. or I pay about 400 as well, and get good insurance thru the gov't.. or I pay 200 per month and get the garbage healthcare thru the government.

Once my child is born about Nov. or Dec.. it will become worth it. (Wife's family plan is CHEAPER than the couples plan.. for some reason)

But until then, they can BITE ME.

    I'll pay 75 bucks for a doctor's visit (the 1-2x I go per year)

instead of the 200 bucks per month for the garbage healthcare that doesn't even pay for office visits.

I am 28 with no serious medical history whatsoever... they encourage me to pay 4,800 dollars per year for insurance I would use about 100 dollars of per year.

I would rather take a bullet to the %$$ than throw away almost 5000 dollars per year.

I could almost payoff my house in a decade for the amount that I would be paying for healthcare.

I am a part of the percentage that got royally screwed by the new laws. I used to be able to get crap coverage through anthem for about 30 dollars per month.
