Your right about it being too bad yesterdays win went unnoticed to the rest of the NFL. But who cares WE won. I have to say C.J. goes from a stand still into 5th gear like its nobodies business. He damn near died out there after that great run from inside the 20. If you watch the game notice how quick he takes off when he realizes the open road ahead of him is waiting to get trampled over for a TD. And for what its worth Cedric Benson is the real deal.

If CJ has a good game next week and gets 150 yards, he will be very close to 1,000 at the halfway point. Didn't he say last year that his goal was to get 2,000? It wouldn't be easy at all but if he has a couple more huge 150-200+ yard games he could do it.

This is the truly nutty part.

That just doesn't happen in the NFL.

CJ is leading the NFL in rushing and has ~40 fewer carries than #2 and #3.

Since we're on the subject of CJ's stats......something I posted on another forum that fits into the conversation:

Here's what CJ has done so far this season:

119 rushes, 824 yards, for a 6.9 ypc average. This includes 10 rushes of 20+ yards, and five rushes of 40+ yards.

That works out to a 20+ yard run every 11.9 attempts, and a 40+ yarder every twenty-four attempts. His longest run has been the 91-yarder against Houston, followed closely by yesterday's 89-yarder.

    Pretty good, right?

In the greatest season of his HOF career, Barry Sanders rushed for 2053 yards on 335 attempts...a 6.1 ypc average. He had 19 rushes of 20+ yards, and eleven 40+ yarders. This works out to a 20+ yard run every 17.6 rushes, and a 40+ yarder every 30.5 attempts. His longest play that season was 82 yards; the longest run of Sanders' career was 85 yards.

So let's look at them side-by-side:

    yards-per-carry average:
    CJ : 6.9 ypc
    Barry: 6.1 ypc

    20+ yard runs
    CJ: one every 12 carries
    Barry: one every 17-18 carries

    40+ yard runs
    CJ: one every 24 carries
    Barry: one every 30 carries

Not only is CJ currently ahead of Barry's greatest season ever....it's not even close. CJ's per-rush average is nearly a full yard better than Barry's, and he breaks off long runs nearly 50% more often than Barry did at his very best. And if that's not enough, CJ has not only surpassed the longest run of Sanders' ten-year career....he's done twice in just over a month's time!

Also....according to a graphic they showed on TV yesterday, CJ has already broken the NFL record for the most 50+ yard runs in a single season......and there are still nine games left on the schedule!

Saw a Barry Sanders mention. Barry had the same type of stats. Run for 2, -2, 4, 8, then break a 80 yard run.

No question about it - CJ is our team's MVP. 2nd place isn't even close.
