This is exactly what is going to happen. To think that the players have time to stop and consider where they are going to hit the opponent is ludicrous in the extreme, but that is exactly what they are requiring them to do. The only thing that will sway him in any way whatsoever is for the tv audience to stop watching and having empty seats in the stadiums. Does anyone think that will happen anytime soon? I don't. People take a whole lot before they rebel. So if it ever does happen, it will be years away. The game is built on violence and if that is taken away, then it ceases to fulfill it's function and so is dead.

As many fines as Pollard has had already do you seriously think it affects his play? Lol
Get real. He already said he ain't changing his game ( and he shouldn't ). Pretty shure they can afford the fines.

Yeah they SAY it won't effect their play.. but after a while those fines add up, especially when they get more and more expensive. You're delusional if you believe money isn't important to these dudes, even when they make millions.

That's a competition matter not a " the league and Godell hates the titans" matter . The league is changing and it sucks ,but your wasting time moaning and groaning about fines that have no bearing on your team.

Richardson's collision with Coleman was the blueprint for this rule. Battle's hit was almost identical.

What this means is that a RB can't confront a tackler in open field in a hitting positron. The back has to veer to a side and use his shoulder.

I know people are outraged over this fine but they are trying to even things up since every big hit by a defensive player is met with a fine or penalty. Why then should an offensive player with an advantage not be penalized.

The problem with the rule is that Manning is not defenseless! 2 guys colliding and one gets the worst of it so a fine.

John madden brought this issue up in a game way back in the early 90s. Moose Johnson of the Cowboys caught a little flare pass and turned up field and trucked a tackler and Madden asked the question why it is a penalty when a defensive player does that but not when the offensive player does that.
