    NFL drafts measurables, especially early

Clowney is the same size as JPP but faster and more proven against better competition. JPP was what the 12th pick in his draft despite the fact he had barely played college football?

Clowney had 8 sacks as a true freshman and 13 last year. From the beginning he was a target for double teams because he was the top rated recruit in the country.

I would like anybody to make an argument for why he is not a top 10 pick. You can't!

Mario Williams is another example for comparison though Clowney won't be quite that big. A sick athlete with the ability to to average 15 sacks a season over 10 years.

But while Williams has not been that good he still has averaged 10 sacks a season and has been a damn good player. I just don't see how Clowney won't do that.

Williams was such a sick athlete he was able to play as a 3-4 OLB @ 292 lbs and was averaging a sack a game before he got hurt.

So even Williams without the ultimate motor who could be viewed as an over paid under achiever has still had a great career. He is on pace for 20 sacks this year.

Don't even gotta go that far. Ziggy Ansah was taken #5 overall with barely any semblance of a resume. No way Clowney isn't a top ten pick and if for some unforseen reason he slips out of the top 10 he'll be an unbelievable value for whichever team take him. Hopefully we don't finish the season badly enough to even be close to drafting him.

The game against Tennessee all but guarantees he will be top non QB pick in the draft.

Didn't know he was still playing... haven't heard anything about him since the season got underway. Well, after the first few weeks anyway.

I'd do the same if there was a chance the Jags would draft me.

    UPDATE:

Clowney is going all :cj:and refusing to workout for NFL teams privately. He just really cannot be bothered.

Also, an unnamed NFC personnel exec has called Clowney "Spoiled and lazy":
