Jags take a punter in the 3rd

    Whats funny is some fans are actually finding a way to defend this pick. Statments like "Well he will come in and start right away, we couldn't get anyone else that could start here"... they had the 7th overall pick in the 3rd round. There are PLENTY of people that could start or contribute in a large way.

    I also like the one "this is a game of field postion" ... while I agree to an extent, this is the losers way of looking at it. Use a 3rd rd pick on a guy because you know Blaine Gabbert wont be moving the ball.

    Well with all the punts Gabbert is going to force, the pick makes tons of sense.

    Most teams in the NFL try to build their offense or defense, and pick players based on evaluating talent. Jags are too good for that, they build their team around the punting game and pick players based on their wives and girlfriends. haha
