Hoyer is starting for the cardinals today.
The weaknesses you point out are the same ones coming out of college the only problem is he's had half a season to work them out. You're not going to develop and improve in practice, it takes game time to get better. You can't fix accuracy but you can help improve those numbers a bit by getting the QB more help. I don't think he has a great feel being in the pocket because 1. he's better outside the pocket 2. no confidence in OL 3. OL collapses 4. shoulder 5. he can't make all the throws
I didn't list just excuses there are big concerns with Locker but he's not going to improve with what he has around him. He has no confidence because our offense as a whole was trash this year. Let's admit it, our offense fell way short of expectations and it can't all go on Locker. It starts with him but break down every issue with this offense and the majority goes on the OL and play calling. I'm not very confident him being our QB in 5 years but give him a full off season, coaches that can actually help him, health, and OL and let's see what happens.
Locker has like 9 career starts? That's not enough to declare bust or not. Right now it's not looking good but hey you can say about anything and make a strong case when a guy has only 9 career starts.
Good news... some of the right teams won today and we SHOULD still be picking in the top 10
If he had been accurate up to this point and not so many miss fires... I'd be on board. But his problems are not getting fixed. Take your gun and never go shoot it, how accurate are you going to be? Now to say you are only going to be accurate once your go to war and get live reps is silly. You're just going to be worse. And gun shy.
His mechanics are a muscle memory problem. Has tebow changed? Really, where is this QB that had accuracy problems that has just turned it around... Eli has some weight in this... But he's still just as inconsistent as he ever was. We will all cut Blaine Gabbert from the jags but it hurts to much to say we made the same mistake?
When did I say that? I just said you can't fix accuracy but getting him some help can bump his numbers up a bit. It takes snaps to get better, this is common sense. You make the mistakes, go into the film room, learn from it, then try to correct it the next game.
QB's can't fix accuracy, we have both already agreed to this but Locker can improve on his footwork, his awareness, his vision, and everything else that has to happen in live games.
oh come on....i see your expectations of him are FREAKING LOW. How can you say you were happy? He only played a nice first drive and then he was kinda lame at best.
What is up with you guys? you kill some players who do average and then jake sucks big time you use the term "happy". Can't believe this ****.
So we can succeed with an inaccurate passer? Cuz like you said, that's not going to change. If he was able to work the underneath routes better and not throw high/behind... I'd say its worth a shot... But his timing with everything scares me... He's not roethlisburger or his ability to extend a play... He's turned into the annoying, no confidence, inaccurate QB... He will never be consistent in my eyes.
The thing they have to get out of him is the red zone scores... Kids just lost inside the 20.
I saw Deadpool and Star Wars
That is my fault
Took jake till the 4th quarter to hit 100 yards passing. Missed an easy throw on third and 5 for a first down. Only drop was Nate on the deep ball really. He looked just as bad as he has the past month and a half.
we need to stop with those stupid designed qb runs.
