Well I don't expect Collins to leave.

Kitna also threw 5 picks in 4 games last year, that's almost as many as Collins in a whole season. Kitna can't protect the ball, he never has.

And we have a young team for the most part, we have time to develop a young QB that we don't need Jon Kitna. I think you just like Kitna for whatever reason and want him on this team just because.

Do you not think having zero protection compared to the best protection in the NFL makes any difference whatsoever?
You seem to never factor that part in. How hard is it to not throw ints when you have 5 seconds to pass or just throw the ball away? Kitna's played behind a TERRIBLE OL every year of his career.

Well good for Kitna, he's still a bad quarterback. The reason he's only played for bad teams is because bad teams with no QB are the only ones who will sign him.

Kitna brought Cincinnati out of the basement, and began to do the same for Detroit beginning last season 6-2. He's not a terrible QB. He's not the greatest either. But, if he's surrounded with talent, he can make strong accurate passes and good decisions which is the mold for a QB in Tennessee.

If we go after a FA QB though, I would prefer to go top tier and keep our same set of WR's.

Let's drop Haynesworth, KFC, and Vince... and sign Donovan and Plax, and draft a DT! :)

Kerry Collins is twice the QB that Jon Kitna is.

And Collins has proven that he can remain healthy and productive as he ages and Kitna hasn't. No way in hell we bring Kitna in to start at this stage of his career.

If the Panthers let Delhomme walk, he will go somewhere where they drafted a rookie QB to be a caretaker for a couple of years while they babysit a rookie.

I think this Collins bandwagon is hilarious. He sucked to everyone before this season, but now...oh now he's great! No other decent qb can come in and throw for 150 yards a game with no interceptions! Impossible!

With our line, any decent QB (again, Collins was TERRIBLE before we made him look decent. Not great. Not good, but decent) can look good.

Kitna also sucked to everyone before and during this season.

Kitna's last few years have been a hell of a lot better than Kerry's. If people thought Kitna sucked after last season they simply don't watch or know what football is.

Perhaps. Frankly, the difference between the two is hardly noticeable imo.

And that's the point. There's not much difference. They can fill in if Kerry is gone. It's not even really a Kitna vs Collins situation. It's a Kitna vs Vince Young. Collins wants to be promised the job or retire. He's not going to be promised the job- so we might as well start looking at other options.
