Really? I don't think he decides to fumble. It can a very good decision to take off and still end in a fumble.

Because we can certainly measure a QBs psychic ability to determine a defender is coming to blitz or not...

These metrics are useful and can assist in detailed evaluations of players. Props to Joyner for coming up with this.

Locker may not get the ball in perfect position for receivers, but he rarely makes literally erroneous throws. He always picks the right Receivers to throw to.

Are you saying a QB shouldn't be able to read a blitz?

    C'mon man....

When everyone in the building knows a blitz is coming except the QB- that's a problem. VY had the same issue.

completely agree with you ..... football 101 , qb needs to be able to read the D and blitzes. The bad decision rating then goes on the coaching staff for putting in a qb that cannot read the blitz or d!! it all then equals frustration in the end

I didn't notice the issue all to much in preseason. Of course that's just it, preseason.

Last year he was just oblivious to it... Or the few that he missed and got hit on, amplified the idea that he has a problem. Sometimes it's also the inline TEs fault for not picking it up.

Moving system with many pieces... Something is bound to go wrong.

    lol.

I remember when fans made up stats for Reggie Bush to prove he wasn't a bust. They found out eventually..

Which is exactly why a guy like Peyton makes a huge difference. He gets the ball to the hot receiver again blitz.

Bro you are knocking on Joyner's work, and I'm just saying things like that can't be measured in any form or fashion. This is a great study.

If it happens excessively it is an issue, but Locker doesn't have serious issues reading a defense. Most of the time he can get out of the pocket and avoid the sack, some of the times can turn a bad situation into a good situation. With the time he should have in the pocket this year I definitely see an increase in production.

Locker was clearly terrible last year reading the blitz. The gold standard was when he got injured vs the Texans when he could've easily hit Cook on a hot route, avoid a hit and picked up solid yardage if not a 1st down. A much better offensive line will absolutely help even if Jake misses something off pure talent alone but you can't constantly misread the blitz like Jake did last season and expect any offensive potency

Ok there is one play. I'll agree with you on that one, just as much as Ill agree that Peyton's last interception was bad. He should have hit Cook in the post wide open. But that is one play, and even though he got injured, it doesn't mean that he does it all the time.

Locker gets sacked slightly more often than the league average. But it is absolutely not a bad thing to take a sack sometimes. And you most certainly have to consider that our O-line was horrid and injury ridden in the second half of last season after Locker came back from his injury. Another useful metric, last year Locker had a great sack percentage at 3.5% in the first 11 games when the league average was 6.5% (he only played in six of them though). It wasn't until the last 5 games, when the o-line was gone, he averaged 12.9%. (http://www.totaltitans.com/2013-art...uently-in-2012-which-means-what-for-2013.html)

Also have to consider we were running palmer's ****** pass first offense last year too.

It's not as bad as one can make it look, and Locker does make pretty good decisions.
