Someone else make a chance, but after the nasty taste that Pacman left in our mouths I don't our front office taking a chance on him

There is a little bit of a difference between hitting the strip clubs with your guys and smoking weed. Right now he's going anywhere from the top 15 to mid 2nd. His draft stock will only go up during the combine so #20 is a good spot. If he would've stayed at UF then no doubt he would be drafted ahead of Dre Kirk. If we tag Finny then Jenkins can get some playing time as a rookie then take over the next year and if we let Finny go he can come in and start out in a rotation then take over a starting role later in the season. People are sleeping on him because he played at UNA for a year. He has the chance to be a real difference maker on defense, something we don't have right now. Now don't get me wrong we have some real solid and potential really good ones but I like the risk/reward of Jenkins a ton.

he would come in and be our number 2 so verner would stay at number 3--top cb tandem in the league for years to come

Really? Why dont we just resign Finnegan and forget about taking the chances with the off-field things. We know finnegan is an all-pro on and off the field. I know he probably shouldnt get what hes asking but he does deserve close to that. You get what you pay for. If your willing to take the chance on the guy with issues for a discount be my guest.

Heres an idea. How about sign Finnegan and if hes available in the second draft Jenkins. Then if he fails so be it. We still have our top corner. If he suceeds then now(!) a top cb tandem in the league for years to come.

We're not going to pay what Finnegan wants, the general idea is that Finnegan is going to want top 5 CB money when he is barely top 10. McCourty had a good season last year and makes for a real good #2 CB so adding Jenkins will fill the loss of Finnegan.

I'm not saying draft a CB in the 1st no matter what but if Jenkins is there I would give a very strong look towards him and if we pass on him then he might even make his way down to us in the 2nd but he would be an excellent pick up.

Personally, I wouldnt gamble such a high value pick. I like to leave the gambling for the later rounds. We could easily trade a first and get an already proven player to fill a void on the roster. If we are going to draft a player they should choose someone who does well on the field and who contains no red flags. The first, second, and third picks are too much value to gamble with.

If Jenkins doesnt mess up and is on the field. Maybe he could be the best corner in the draft.

Id like to see someone convincingly name 5 corners better than Cortland and prove it with evidence. I think he may very well be a top 5 corner.

Every pick in the draft is a gamble in some way. Janoris Jenkins is a top 10 pick if it wasn't for his off field stuff and is the best CB in this draft. He's a game changer and I'll take that over a solid DE or an interior lineman that we could get in the 2nd.
