You JUST SAID they held Jones back. Due to injury, as if the Lions were ever planning on running the ball much. C'mon man. Get with it.

Hey guys, Kevin Jones is on PUP and probably won't suit up until week 6 of the season. This is a Mike Martz offense with potentially three outstanding receivers, of course they are going to put up big yardage numbers.

But that doesn't mean Jon Kitna is one of the best 5 QBs in the NFL. At times, Kitna's on-field decision making is as bad as Mike Vick's off-field decision making.

Using The Goat's logic, Timmy Chang should book his spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

No. I said he'll be a top 5 qb THIS SEASON. I didn't say he was last year. I didn't say he ever had been. What's funny is, Kitna has always been expected to NOT make dumb mistakes. That was the main reason detroit got him. An experienced QB that won't turn the ball over often.
Anyway - If he puts up top 5 stats across the board, he is a top 5 qb. Simple as that. And this season, he should be able to.

Gloat, you still didn't answer my post about your faulty logic...

Kitna was not a top 5 QB last season, except in terms of passing yards. There's no reason that CJ is going to get rid of all those interceptions. His QB rating won't be in the top five, maybe not top ten.

Huh? How would you know if I answered? You obviously haven't read my posts to find out. I've said at least 3 times that Kitna wasn't top 5 overall last season. I even placed emphasis on it.
CJ wont limit interceptions? I disagree. Roy Williams was the only major threat on the Lions O last season. Leaving Kitna forcing passes as any other qb would. Now that there's a burner on the other side that demands attention? He definitely has more options resulting in less forced passes and inevitably less interceptions.
    Faulty logic is awesome!

Not that post, my post at the bottom of the last page. CJ isn't just going to add production without taking it away from others. Roy was the only major threat? Furrey had 98 receptions and over 1000 yards receiving! Not a threat? He was a top 15 WR last season! Also, look back at my comparison to the Pats as to why your logic is faulty.

Hey Goat, Mike Furrey LED THE NFC IN RECEPTIONS and was 2nd in the league. I think that qualifies him as an option other than Roy Williams.

Yeah, I know. But Furrey's success was mostly due to Roy. So it's just another plus for Kitna this season. 3 1,000 yard capable receivers. Yes, if Kitna spreads the ball around more, it takes more yards from the receivers, but adds more to kitna's.
