SUMMARY: Chris Johnson has set his goals high for his rookie season. "My main goal is to win rookie of the year,'' Johnson said. "I want to come in and do the same thing Adrian Peterson came in and did last year. I think that is possible." Peterson was NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year last season after rushing for 1,341 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Vikings. Johnson will play opposite Darren McFadden, the first running back drafted this year, Friday night in a nationally-televised game. "It motivates me because every time we are on TV and every time we play a game it is campaigning for the rookie of the year, and he'll be one of the competitors trying to get rookie of the year,'' Johnson said of McFadden. "But I feel like if I do what I have to do to help this team succeed, then the rookie of the year should come, and everything else should fall into place for us as a team."

That would give us 2 OROY in 3 years...

That would be ridiculous. Has there every been a OROY QB/RB in the same backfield?

What an ego on this guy. How about our team winning football games not how pretty you look on national TV?

I guess he doesn't realize there were 7 backs drafted in the first 2 rds. To him it is all about him and mcfadden. We are trying to win a super bowl and he is worried about beating some other RB for an award.

"Personal goals don't mean anything to me. I'm only interested in winning football games."

TJ, obviously he's only saying that because he knows it'll make him look better for the award...

Sometimes it is just easier to say "I may have been wrong."

Sorry Chris Johnson this isn't conference USA anymore and lets see you do it against a first string defense. Heck try winning the starting running back job first, before you start setting up some ridiculous goals for yourself. Takes more than a one trick pony to win ROY.
