    He originally signed with Notre Dame (Holtz said he was the best high school athlete he's ever seen), then around the last week of high school he got into a fight and was arrested so ND revoked his scholarship. He then went to FSU and failed a drug test and was kicked off the team. Then transferred to Marshall in order to avoid sitting out a year (1-AA at the time).
