Jon Gruden will be UT's next coach

Plently of Vol fans on this board, as well as Vol/SEC haters...

I am usually one to hedge my bets when it comes to these things, as I don't enjoy dropping predictions left and right; looking stupid as often as I do a genius.

But, for the fun of it, I'm leaving it all out there as of 10/26/12.

Jon Gruden will be the next coach of the Tennessee Vols.

My family is good friends with a guy who runs a lumber buisness in East Tennessee. He makes bank, and is a UT donor. Donors write the checks over there, and let's just say this guy is on the short list to call when something is happening.

Anyway, my dad calls me this morning, and said he just talked to this guy, and he more or less said that Dooley is out. But they paid him to finish the year and that is what he is going to do. Gruden is just about locked up. My dad said his words were "He is basically making staff calls at this point".

I know most of you won't believe me, but I'm in. So... somebody is eating crow by as early as next week.

I want Gruden for mah Titans :(

Many here said the same about pantyboy coming to the Titans. Just saying, but I do admit that I think Gruden would be a good hire. Good coach, and kids would know his name come recruiting time. I believe he was even a grad assistant coach at UT at some time if memory serves, maybe even married a UT girl.

Mods, can we move this to speculation section or merge this with the other UTjr threads?

He can go to Knoxville, just keep Gruden out of Nashville.

I have to ask because I have always wondered, why do people care about this? It's not like it cost you anything.
