Lot's of differences in Dooley and Fulmer. Fulmer had a winning record and he is a nice guy. He just got stale in his play calling.

It always looks good on these programs when they fire an otherwise successful head coach because he strings together a few mediocre years. Only to have the program get much worse after. Ole Miss did it after David Cutcliff had a couple average years. Replaced him with the Ragin Cajin. How did that one work out?

And now aparently Kirk Ferentz and Jeff Tedford are on the hot seat. Did Iowa forget where they are and Cal forget who they are. Look around Iowa, it is not hard. State is so flat you can probably stand on a chair and see all of it. Your boosters probably consist of a group of the most successful tractor dealers in the state. And Cal, you are still the biggest hippie school in the world the last time I checked. A public school with private school academic requirements. Only BCS program where you can go to a game and see protesters camping out in trees next to the stadium. How are Kirk Ferentz and Jeff Tedford not good enough for you guys?

Saw this list of possible candidates on ESPN.com. Some interesting names on it. I don't know what they're basing this on, because names like Pease, Leach and Fulmer don't make any sense.

    Names to watch

    • Bobby Petrino - Former Arkansas head coach
    • Sonny Dykes - Louisiana Tech head coach
    • David Cutcliffe - Duke head coach
    • Tommy Tuberville - Texas Tech head coach
    • John Chavis - LSU defensive coordinator
    • Butch Jones - Cincinnati head coach
    • Neal Brown - Texas Tech offensive coordinator
    • Brent Pease - Florida offensive coordinator
    • Phillip Fulmer - Former Tennessee head coach
    • Gus Malzahn - Arkansas State head coach
    • Dirk Koetter - Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator
    • Ron Caragher - San Diego head coach
    • Mark Stoops - Florida State defensive coordinator
    • Willie Taggart - Western Kentucky head coach
    • Mike Leach - Washington State head coach
    • Mike Bellotti - former Oregon head coach
    • Kliff Kingsbury - Texas A&M offensive coordinator
    • Gary Andersen - Utah State head coach
    • Jon Gruden - ESPN announcer, former Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach

    Fulmer?!

    Really?

I cannot imagine you guys would be too excited about having Petrino.

To be honest, I doubt Fulmer would even accept the job if it were offered to him...which it won't be.

Based on Hart's comments there is no chance for a Petrino or Leach.

The #1 priority is culture of compliance.

I think Cutcliffe or maybe just to really piss Eric with a K off, Chris Peterson :)

The word is gruden is a done deal he is now a volunteer, hope the people who claim to be "in the know" are really in the know and not full of shyt. Lots of talk on cbs sports, nbc sports, yahoo sports, and ESPN, nothing to the "its a done deal" talk but definitely confirming what people have been saying for weeks so hopefully there is a lot of fire with all this smoke.
