    This was discussed elsewhere, but I'm making a thread on it. JR should have paid up and signed Norman. Sure, maybe he was a product of a great defense, but we sorely need CB help. Watching McCourty and Cox out injured and Blake getting burned made me a little more worried than i already was.

    Norman takes CB 1, moves McCourty to 2 where he belongs, then depth. I'd be a lot more confident in that scenario, and we have the cap space.

    If we end up getting the best CB in next year's draft, I won't be bitter about this as much.

    Norman isn't worth the money. Let's be honest, our secondary is trash, quite possibly the worst in the NFL. But I didnt want Normanans I still don't. We need to fix the defense in the draft or pull off some killer trade deals to bring in young talent.

    This year's draft was pretty focused on offense, so I'm hoping next year we'll address the secondary with our early picks. I'm thinking 1st Rd CB and WR, then defense for the rest.

    I get where you're coming from, but a good GM doesn't panic and spend a ton of money on a player that's probably average knowing we aren't contenders this season anyway.

    To me, CB is not the first place to spend the big $$$ on D. As you stated....true difference makers at CB are rare...combine that with the way the game is played I would rather build a badA$$ D line to put massive pressure on the QB...a great D line/lb corps is any CB best friend.

    We draft one early next year to a rookie contract and grab a FA or trade for one...Bingo, back in business. I'd also like to see us grab a MLB and receiver early.
