I'm not particularly anxious to go see Juno myself but Gloat says this stuff in part to get a rise.. People definitely appreciate stuff differently in their 20's than after a few years..
Pretty simple -Tarantino has made good stuff and some Ok stuff.

Yeah. I say Juno was bland to get a rise out of people. lol I didnt even say it was bad. And if I were trying to get a rise, I'd just make a thread about how the Matrix Trilogy sucked.

or maybe even, Keanu Reeves is better than your favorite actor.

  3. Juno isn't for everyone. It's often laugh out loud funny. And it's oddball while also being real. And at times is sweet.

But if you are a fan of action and horror and scifi but not drama then it may not be for you.

I dont recall one funny part. But, like I said. I expected a comedy. So, that was probably wrong.

Starkiller is wrong in his assumption. I have an fairly wide taste in movie genres; the charm of the movie isn't lost on me. It's just about being able to see past the charm, and be let down by all the smugness of it. The script is absolutely absurd at times, and that's all good and fun, except the thing is so damn proud of how cute and witty it is, it's distracting with how much is coughed up. This is a script from a writer with too much pride in their own abilities, and it's a shame, because the main actress and the supporting has so much talent (Micheal Cera, Jason Bateman, and JK Simmons are fantastic actors).

And I mentioned Little Miss Sunshine only because it was vastly overrated by critics last year. It was a good movie, not a special movie that should have never been nominated for Best Picture, just like this piece. But LMS is a much better film than this, no question in my mind.

    I loved the movie.

The teen wit was very entertaining and the exploration of modern family dynamics was brilliant and charming. Admittedly, is was "mainstream" family, but IMO the better "thinker" films always accentuate the beauty of everyday living that is buried with the stress of just "getting by".

And how anybody could not love the character "Juno" as well as admire Ellen Page's performance is beyond me.
