Kevin Sumlin for coach in 2014

I'd be down.

I think he'll need more time at A&M to prove himself though.

 

Him or David Shaw at Stanford

 

David Shaw would have to be considered.

 

A college coach. Hmmmm, let's see. Some have struggled but there must be some who have done well?????

College Coaches who have crashed and burned in the NFL:

• Steve Spurrier (Florida)
• Lou Holtz (NC State)
• Butch Davis (Miami first job; Oregon State second job)
• Dennis Erikson (Miami)
• Rich Brooks (Oregon)
• John Robinson (USC)
• Lane Kiffin (USC)
• John McKay (USC)
• Bobby Petrino (Louisville)
• Nick Saban (LSU)
• Mike Riley (Oregon State)

Wow, that got tiring. Do not think I got all of them who crashed and burned but I should have most.

College coaches who have done well in the NFL:

• Jimmy Johnson (Miami)
• Barry Switzer (Oaklahoma)-Has a Super Bowl but in all fairness he did gravy train off what Jimmy Johnson built

I left names like Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, Jack Pardee, Denis Green, etc. off the list as they were NFL guys before they were a college head coach.

So why in the world would an NFL team take a risk on a college coach when the odds are so poor? It makes about as much sense as hiring someone from the Central European Football League.

I would totally be down. His track record at Houston and A&M are very impressive. If Munch sucks next year and gets fired, Sumlin and Shaw will hopefully be our first calls.
