With Kwame Brown gone, it's almost inevitable. Enter Paul Gasol. Now just wait for Bynum to come back, and what do you have? Dominance.
Kobe, Fisher, Odom, Bynum, and a handful of solid contributers. That's serious.

That was a ridiculous trade. Lakers should be in jail for theft.

Just got home from work, and was floored by the news of this trade. Amazing trade for the Lakers. Crittenton is a solid prospect, but he's not as good as Jordan Farmar. Kwame Brown is crap. And first round picks are thrown around the NBA like nothing.

Yeah. The reason Memphis did it does make sense though. They were going nowhere with Gasol, and his contract was longer and more expensive than they wanted. So they get rid of his contract, and get Kwame, who's contract is expiring. Young talent in Crittenton, and 2 first round picks.
They're cleaning house and starting over. It's a smart move. Just glad the Lakers were the ones on the other side of the deal.

So far so good. Lakers looking great since the trade. Pau has gelled instantly. Once Bynum gets back, it's over. All over.

may be one sided now, but it definitely freed Memphis up from some cap issues

I think Memphis did the right thing. I think that because Gasol was good enough to keep them in mediocrity, but never get them to the championship. Gay is no leader either. He is more like a third wheel. Memphis did the right thing if and only if they can get someone like Lebron. Ultimately, that is what they need to do, and I like the fact that they are trying to do that. I think they will lose plenty of games over the bext few years and will be in the mix for the #1 pick. It was the only way out for them. I like it.

Lakers won't win it, but it will be a good West battle to play Boston.
