JoPa has been an effective head coach for decades and wasn't handed the job when he was 68. I doubt Monte would have the energy to rebuild a national power, nor the desire.

Monte will come here as the DC, tear SEC offenses apart for 3-4 years, produce a handful of pro-bowlers, and then hand the reigns over to the DC in waiting (Orgeron or Steele). And that's fine with me.

On a different note, anyone catch Lane's press conference today? He's a cokky SOB....something that's MUCH needed on the hill.

I'll give Meyer the nod considering what he did at Utah and BG. That makes the count 3 good head coaches at most. That's not any more than most conferences.
And Meyer was completely outcoached that game. Use any excuse you want. He couldn't get his guys going once Tebow was nuetralized.

Percy Harvin went off that game and Tebow accounted for 4 TDs, though I will agree his yardage wasnt anything special. Like I said, they scored 35 points, but the defense was terrible. Henne through for over 300 and Hart ran for about 130. It was more a case of a defensive breakdown than an offense struggle on Florida's part.

The stats are a bit misleading in that one then. Tebow was rushed all game, picking himself up off the grass every play, frustrated, and could get nothing. I don't remember exactly, but i'd say most their yards came in 1 big play here and there.

Let's see Ole Miss in a few years without the players Orgeron recruited. I think Nutt is a good coach, but this is the first year in a long time he has ever had a QB that could actually throw.
