Latest Mock Drafts for the Tennessee Titans @ 20 NFL.com Mocks Charlie Casserly Nick Perry DE USC While Charles Davis and Greg Cosell both give the Titans Whitney Mercilus DE Illionis Bucky Brooks gives the Titans Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina Walterfootball.com Dontari Poe NT Memphis Other Mocks: CBSSports.com Dre Kirkpatrick, Michael Floyd and Whitney Mercilus Ive also seen Melvin Ingrim and Michael Brockers drafted to the Titans in some other popular mock drafts. Any ideas out there to whose mock draft you'd like or any other popular ones ive missed? Me personally am finally leaning towards Janoris Jenkins or Dre Kirkpatrick. I wanted them to draft Prince Amukamara in the past so I obvioulsy have a fascination with stud cornerbacks. However, most signs point to a defensive end being drafted @ 20. Any Thoughts? And is safety still out of the question? Barron won't fall past Dallas and Titans rarely ever trade up if ever - so time to let go of that one. I still want a CB but looks like DE? I just looked for myself go back to 2000 their hasn't been a good track record in drafting CB, DE, or WR at pick 20 but that doesn't say a whole lot. I just hope they front office is doing their homework and we are getting a true playmaker and just not a need.
I can see Hightower but Much wants a team without bad Character, Jenkins has all the talent in the world but has his head in the wrong direction. You guys might say oh it's not a big deal but look at the trouble Simpson is in right now.
Don't really care about mocks at this point, just ready for it to get here lol There's about 5-7 consistent players you see in mocks for us at 20. Mercilus Gilmore Kirkpatrick Poe Barron (very few) Brockers Perry
I'd like getting Hightower in the first and Jenkins in the 2nd...ALTHOUGH, I believe we will go Kirkpatrick or Gilmore in the first..Who knows though, we still could trade for Asante..I hear the asking price has gone down to a 4th. This is why we won't draft Jenkins no matter what round it is. "He was arrested after a bar fight in Gainesville in 2009. On April 26, 2011, a year to the day before this year's draft, he was booted from the Gators team after two marijuana possession arrests within three months. He also has fathered four children with three different mothers." I just find it hard to believe the Munch will allow this guy to be drafted.
I agree, wouldn't sniff him in the first. In the second though... you are getting top ten talent at bargain price. Throw the dice, try to get a support system in place. Of course, I would hope that the FO has sat across the table from him and knows more about him than we do, in which case, I'm comfortable with whatever they decide.
Yeah true, gotta rule out Jenkins. I still for some reason dont see the Titans drafting CB. Even with Finny gone, theres still a possibility of Samuel as mentioned above and with Verner and McCourty around for a few more years at the very least eh who knows. I still want Kirkpatrick but seems like a lot of these corners are coming in with red flags latley. Wimbly was a solid addition but the need for another DE is glaring even if Morgan comes back at full strength. Going to be interesting; and I think we all can agree as Titan fans, we just need a "BIG TIME PLAYMAKER" not a raw no-namer with potential and upside but a TRUE playmaker whether that comes with Asante Samuel and a 1st round DE or Kirkpatrick/Gilmore and a DE in the 2nd round that has yet to be seen - but a "PLAYMAKER" is what this team despertly needs I think we can all agree on that at this point. And yeah Samuel can't tackle great, but he is a playmaker and ball-hawk and if he came at the low risk/high reward price of a 5th or 6th round draft pick then why the hell not at this point?!
