Former Titans receiver Lavelle Hawkins already has a new home – with the New England Patriots.

Hawkins, who was released last week, agreed to terms on Thursday morning on a two-year deal with the Patriots. Hawkins also visited the Texans following his release from Tennessee, and the Giants also wanted him to visit.

Hawkins, a fourth-round pick of the Titans out of California, caught 71 passes for 771 yards in five seasons with the Titans. He had just five catches for 62 yards last season, however.

Hawkins had a breakout season in 2011 when he caught 47 passes for 470 yards and a touchdown. He was awarded the following offseason with a three-year, $7.2 million contract. But the Titans decided to release Hawkins, who was scheduled to make $1.9 million in 2013, last week because of depth at the position, and his hefty salary.

If he screws up his routes like he did here, Belichick will boot him to the curb in a hurry.

    Q. How many Titans receivers had good careers after leaving here?

    A. One.

The odds are not in his favor.

I definitely don't see him being anything special but I think he could maybe be a 50-60 catch/5-6 TD guy for the Pats. IF he sticks. An elite QB can do wonders for an average WR.
