    So... is this a total non-event or is the fact that I'm not hearing too much about it strictly due to the fact that I'm an old man and completely outside the loop.

    Just flipped past it and some German group called "Sasha" is captivating the crowd with their a capella song stylings... makes me want to put a bullett in my head. :))

    Yeah I just heard about it yesterday. Maybe it's not being taken as serious because many people don't believe in global warming? :idunno:

    Could be that it's automatically a non-event when a bunch of musicians get together and try to pretend like they understand science or politics.

    To this day, I still won't play Sun City.



    Do you remember Midge Ure, Bob Geldof's flunky on the Do They Know It's Christmas" ditty? His band Ultravox put out some painfully angst ridden, end of the world records and vids in the early eighties. I recall "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" as being a fine heavy handed example of this (video complete with melting faces, and dying children). To me it seems like the early eighties were rife with this type of cheese, but perhaps that's only due to the fact I was young, cool and foolish enough to still be paying attention :ha:

    Or maybe the irony isn't lost on how they are contributing (and always have) with the energy used during a concert (and around the world too) plus what the people attending are using to contribute to global warming by traveling to get to a concert.
