Collins sucked but he was a veteran and you don't stick around the NFL that long without being able to read defenses. Same thing with Hass. Luckily this is one of those things that I 100% believe Locker will improve at over time. Improving his accuracy is a long shot but Jake seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders and will be very good at reading defenses in no time.

Eh, every good run ends some day. I stand by my statement.

I was unaware he ever had a good run himself. His team perhaps.

He was actually considered a top tier QB for like 2 seasons with the Giants if I remember correctly but I was really just referring to his ability to read a coverage and audible into or out of runs. The teams he played on always had decent running games, i think. It's not like he was elite at it, even among veterans some are better at it than others (see Peyton Manning) but to have a long career as a starter or even journeyman you have to be at least decent at it. If you are smart, which Jake is, you'll get better at it.

Man, forget stats. Lock needs to improve by next year in 4 serious areas; if not, like I said, I will be calling for his head. There is no time to waste with a young group of talent here - we should be gearing up for a 5 year playoff run and hopefully some rings along with way.

    On to the 4:

Accuracy - As you all know, this is huge. We have debated this enough. He needs to start hitting receivers in stride and leading them to make plays. Enough under, over, infront of, and behind throws.

Staring Down Receivers - This guy often fixates on his primary target. He needs to really stop doing that. QBs that move their eyes can lead defenders away from a spot and that can lead to some really nice gains.

Reading D's - Much like the second point, he needs to be better and quicker at understanding what teams are doing against him. This like the point above, I believe will be much improved next year with a bit more time and studying.

Scrambling - I feel that he looks to run more often than he should. Use your legs to extend plays, but try to hit your receivers downfield more often. Also, this guy needs to learn to slide sometimes.

The last three I think will be much improved by next year, but I really worry about point number 1.... Until I see it, and see it consistently, I worry...

If you take away the first 3 games where he was a horrid 46 for 98 carries and clearly not in game shape he was 216 for 945, 4.4 YPC. I think it's fair to attribute those bad numbers weeks 1-3 to CJ as we all know he wasn't ready to play but we played him anyway.

I'm not trying to make some ridiculous point, it's obvious when a QB is in that the defenses don't think can throw the ball they will focus more on the run game and dare Locker to beat them. The stats just kind of point to it at least having some effect as well.
