Take a second and read that article. Quick breakdown:

Traditional completion percentage is calculated by taking completions and dividing it by attempts. The problem with this simple formula is that not all incompletions are representative of a quarterback’s accuracy. Drops, throwaways, batted passes, spikes, and plays where the quarterback is hit while throwing are all incompletions that have no bearing on accuracy. So what we here at PFF did was treat those drops like completions and then take away all those other plays from attempts to give a quarterback’s true Accuracy Percentage. The final equation looks like this:
PFF Acc. % = (Completions + Drops) / (Attempts – Throw Aways – Spikes – Batted Passes – Hit As Thrown)

Locker was 4th in the NFL in PFFs Acc%, behind only RG3, Rogers, & Alex Smith. Best part is Andrew Luck is 32nd. This just shows if we could get slightly better receivers and an improved offensive line Locker can have his breakout year. We did both of those, now Jake has to stay healthy for all 16 games.

Let's hope. If Locker can have a breakout year, this team is dangerous.

Neither of them play, so stats are invalid. Not a big enough sample size.

Exactly, last week I watched the texans @ titans game again, the one where Locker had a 49.2 QB rating with 3 interceptions and 1 TD, and I honestly can't say Locker played that bad.
Between drops, sacks, batted passes, throw aways, our Oline being crushed, a bad running game, penaltys, and a bad shoulder, he was obviously trying to survive out there and still manage to put up 309 yards passing.

Good report. People need to realize the completion percentage and accuracy are not the same thing.

This article is only through the first 5 weeks of the season though.

"So far through five weeks of the season we have seen some surprising performances"

Well to be fair the first five weeks is probably the best way to evaluate what we will be getting from Locker as he was injured after that and is OL fell to pieces.

Yeah, he actually finished much worse for the full season i'm sure. However, that quick snapshot at the start of the season shows you Locker can produce with a healthy OL/improved WRs.

I'm not saying he's a pro-bowler, but I am saying he's good enough to be our starter and surprise a ton of people.
