Agree, no need to try and hit the home run this year with Locker getting one more year to show us what he's got. This is our year.

And no sense in taking a qb just for the sake of taking one. If they do not like him then they should not takr him.

Next year the story could be different.

    Exactly!

all those Locker knockers just need to jump on the wagon. There is no downside to it. Either JL performs like an upper tier NFL QB or you will have seen the last of him. And starting the season hot then spending the rest of the season in the hospital is not gonna cut it IMO

Problem is- next year's QB class is FAR weaker than this one was.

Titans screwed the pooch not getting a QB this draft- unless Mettenberger does by some miracle pan out.

Or... we're planning on being bad enough to draft Bryce Petty. Like that outcome, but hate the current scenario if that's the case.

yeah I think the plan is for Locker to secure the Titan QB job long term.

You might be the only one who thinks that.

It's also way too early to be judging the strength of next year's QB class. Could be amazing, could be trash.

Let me play Devils advocate. Jake plays above average football for 8 weeks we are 5-3 and then gets injured, seriously injured and is out for the year. Feasible right? Then Jesus or Mett fills in and we eek out 2 more wins and end up 7-9. We end up drafting 12-16 range and miss out on the top passers due to draft position. There is your downside and that is in a nutshell how I see our year playing out. I don't think Jake sucks I just think he isn't very good and is extremely fragile which he is and you can't build around that. So essentially we have a lame duck QB which we do not have much faith in cause we didn't exercise his option. This team imo isn't bad enough to pick top 5-10 with our without poor QB play which severely hurts us come next April when we need a QB barring miracles.

I'm not hoping on any bandwagon just for the sake of doing so. If I'm wrong I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it.

Next year's class won't be as deep but the top tier guys are better. There was 1 QB taken in the top 20 this year you can't act like this was such a great class.
