It would of been interesting, but all those picks are late in the round. I would of needed more to go from 5 to 27. Just for shiits and giggles, would of had a ton of options:

18: OJ Howard or Adoree Jackson (trade up with the additional picks we gained?)
27: Tre White, Reuben Foster, Kevin King
    59: Chidobe Awuzie, Juju Smith-Schuster

I prefer Davis to any of those names though..

Chiefs trading for Mahomes was flat out stupid unless he becomes a Super Bowl caliber QB.

Their window is slowly closing and they just all but sealed their fate with that trade. They missed out on a potential difference maker this year and next year.

I can't believe they did it.

And yea I'm glad we didn't take that trade because that's a downright awful offer IMO.

How is their window closing? The only one of their key aging players other than Johnson is Smith, which is exactly who they are hoping to replace.

That's precisely my point... Smith has 2-3 years left. I know he's not an elite QB, but what if they had two difference makers to pair with that current roster?

They have ZERO chance of going all the way the next two years now. Then when Mahomes is ready it'll be rebuilding time.

I think I can speak for most Titans fans. We wanted a number one reciever and have been waiting for one for 17 years.

If there wasn't such a glaring need at WR and CB, then I'm good with stockpiling picks (Patriots).

The Titans desperately needed playmakers. I think JRob felt the top WR talent in this draft would be gone by #18 and he was right.

    I'm happy we declined.

We accepted a kings ransom from the Rams when we sucked and desperately needed good players .. and the timing was better (#1, didn't need QB/LT)

Now that we've improved, we need to top notch playmakers, not more good / role players or depth. The bottom half of the roster has been filled out pretty well, now we need to stack the top with more game breakers.

    This is good organizational discipline

I think a trade up would have made sense, but it's not like it's an obvious trade up situation as the titans seem to be in win now mode, but also have a big window so it's a tough call.

The question is...is Davis worth say LB Reuben Foster, CB Chidobe Awuzie and a 1st round pick next year probably in the 20's? We could have taken Godwin with one of our other picks and Switzer in the slot. Just sayin'....

And two first rounders again in 2018?

FYI, there is some word that the Giants REALLY wanted Mahomes and were pissed when KC moved all that way up to get him. Giants deny it but the sports reporter reporting it says she has at least 4 sources. She was also told if Mahomes was available when Arizona picked at 13, they were absolutely gonna take him there. Sounds like some of the qb needy/wanting teams really liked Mahomes.

Question is...what will he become? That's an underwhelming trade as per the trade chart but that is a lot of value to give up for a single qb you want to groom for the future. Same thing with the Texans!
