Luck bout to be highest paid player ever

colts fans are so damn funny sometimes , they really expected to win this game as if they were playing against cincy or last week's Broncos or the AFCsouth. Luck is a damn good young Qb BUT no young Qb can do it all on his own. The colts squandered a great opportunity to build the team around Luck and take full advantage of their cap because of his rookie contract.

The Colts had the easiest road all season.

Played in the worst division in the NFL.

Played the Bengals in round one. Played a lost Denver team in round two.

The Colts can't run the ball. Can't stop the run. Can't protect the QB. They don't do anything you're supposed to do to win games but still make the playoffs because they're gifted the division every year.

If only the Titans weren't so damn awful.

 

Bengals round 1... perennial 1-and-done in playoffs.

Broncos were horrible in every facet of that game. Credit to Colts... take advantage of an opponents failings. But it was still a very easy road to the AFC Championship.

 

Yeah.

Gets a bit tougher when you're not playing the Titans, Jags, and Texans.

Colts never had any place in the AFC Championship- let's be real.

 

I hope they give him 100 mil a year.

 

For years now its been the next QB up gets to become the highest paid QB, its just the pattern thats become the NFL, and its perfectly fine as these inflated contracts are mostly incentive based and the salary cap is growing. Both Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick received deals in the $100M neighborhood, neither will ever see even 60% of that money.

 

Pay Luck like $25-$35 million, tie up all that cap room with 1 player and don't address any of your needs. That's what needs to happen Colts.

 

Teams can afford to pay top dollar to their QB's, look at the Steelers and Big Ben, $87M deal ($18M in 2014), made the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers same deal makes $17M, in the playoffs.

As long as Luck isn't insane and believe he's worth $20M (Eli money), his team can stay competitive.

FWIW no NFL player should be making more than $16M season, but some get lucky and get a little more.
