well bipolar...in all honesty, that game was the first time i had played madden in over two months...lots of rust. not making excuses for my extremely poor play. anytime you want a rematch we can do it. i didnt sand bag you or let you win...i dont do that. example...the one time i played my wife in madden, i beat her like 45-0...rematch..sometime soon...until then...congrats!

I'm fired up. This is great. I knew if this thread got some play it would generate some interest.

I've stumbled to 2-8 all time online now. I've picked up a few things but sometimes the coverage audible l1, r1, r.stick, l.stick left, right, up, down.. I need to adjust to situations. I read things sorta ok but the reactions... it's hard to adjust on the fly. I pick good sets to match up personnel and do ok man/zone depending on down and distance. It just sucks seeing trouble and then falling right in...

This one cat I played... He tried to just ABUSE me with Chris Johnson, and my open field rush d is very poor, and he made me look silly... until I started to spotlight, and that feature is cool. Evidently he knows when I do it and I think he caught on. There is a little arrow that shows it. I've seen it before.

I still have a difficult time throwing past line backers. It's like they are invisible. I did find though that the Eagles are a good team for me. Donovan is a good qb, I don't care what people say. He has mobility, accuracy, arm strength...

If anyone has any Madden tips, post 'em. I need to work on some things. I need to complete more passes, avoid picks, and I need to grab a few int's myself. It's a timing thing I think, I'm not really sure what the deal is... :hmm:

I seem to get lucky with user INT's. Seems like I get one a game. I don't do nothing out of the ordinary ... just allow the computer to get somewhat in position then switch and jump for it. Sometimes this backfires though and you get burned for a touchdown. I guess you just have to know when to pick your spots.

One trick I do that seems to work is the high punt. It doesn't work everytime but when to do it is when the opposing team has a punt returner you know they want to use ( Hester, Sproles,Cribbs, D Jackson etc.). When punting to them get the punt as high as you can ( if it doesn't work you do lose field position ) and use max punt coverage. 8/10 they try to return it and you meet them with a hitstick. If done properly you almost always will create a fumble with a chance to return it to the house.

tap o and the triangle when the ball is almost there... while on the left stick, right? easier said than done at times.

Yes tap O to switch to the player after the computer has pretty much gotten into position then just tap triangle to go up for it. Like I said if the computer gets into position then the left stick isn't really important. And if you switch too early it seems like the WR will always get space on the defender. Have to get a feel for doing it I guess.
