Boxing is dying yet selling more PPVs than your precious MMA that already peaked?

The biggest draw in MMA (Lesnar) is a farking Wrassler that just went back to acting.

And he was champion. lol... tell me that's not a joke.

It's been a major complaint for a while now that the UFC doesn't pay it's fighters nor treat them well.

Except you know, that's false. More ppv in a single event, but less in total on a year.

For one, Lesnar isn't in MMA anymore. Besides that, wrestlers are extremely athletic (well for the most part, there are obvious exceptions). And yeah he really ended up one of the weaker champions. I think he was good for the sport and fun to watch though, if for no other reason than his freakish size.

Yeah, let's try to talk up pro Rasslin' now...

is that really the angle you're taking?

Weaker or not- he leads like top 3 out of 5 PPVs in UFC history. Without him... who's watching?

We all wanted to see what the steroided gorilla would do.

And no, UFC doesn't get more yearly PPV views.

UFC's PPV numbers are international while Boxing's are domestic.

Naturally, Boxing sells far more PPVs because it's a global sport. UFC is mostly just in the USA.

Which is why the UFC has to work around boxing's schedule... not the other way around.

Dude are you really that clueless? The UFC is extremely popular in South America, Canada, and in Japan (where they now have zero competition). The only real problem is that those Japanese fighters from Pride really don't cut it in the UFC so there isn't much of a draw.

Also I want to see evidence of these ppv numbers you are making up.

USA/Canada is basically UFC's only demographic.

MMA as a whole- you may be right. UFC? Mostly just here. Either way, of course it doesn't compare world-wide to boxing. Wouldn't even be fair to stack it against it.

^just one example, but using domestic figures as usual.

Because for instance... Mayweather/Hatton had like 1 mill in the UK alone.

Only problem with your comparison is there are more UFC PPV events so when you add all the buys in for both sports in a year or so time frame they aren't much different. Boxing has a few big names that bring in the money just like UFC.

Just adding up the top 20 PPV draws for UFC (not all of them just those in the top 20 draw) between 7/8/2006 and 12/30/2011 (UFC 61-141) totals almost 18 million. That is only 20 of the 80 matches on PPV they had over that time frame. The 300,000 in your example is about what the other 60 matches averaged if not more (another 18 mil). That is a lot of money being spent on the sport.

Right. Yearly, boxing sells more... their events yrly vs UFC's yrly.

They've been getting weak PPV results lately though. Like 500k less than expected.
